Pinoyxbox Members Go to PAX 2009!

PXB members Kantoboy and GM were able to attend the Penny-Arcade Expo 2009! More pictures over on this thread at Pinoyxbox.com.

Moving On: Thanks Pinoyxbox ^_^

I left the comments section of this blog closed and for good reason. Because the Internet's anonymity just brings out the absolute WORST in people. Today me and my wife retired our tenure as moderators on Pinoyxbox.com, because it seems that there are people on the forum who do not want us to continue with our efforts to keep the forum discussions civil and friendly. I will say this: there are good people in the Pinoyxbox community, too. First off, I'd like to thank people like Fafa Roland, Kantoboy, GM, Yakisoba and RDPeralta for being so nice to us and for letting us be moderators, even if they only met us one day at one of the tournaments they ran; a chance encounter that perhaps changed all our lives. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for letting us be moderators, even if just for a few years. We don't expect anything in return; we just enjoyed our stay there and we're grateful that you guys have trusted us to let us manage the daily concerns of the forum. To...

Pinoyxbox Downtime Advisory

Just posting this in case the Pinoyxbox forums go down.... Recently the site has been getting a significant increase in traffic, perhaps because of increased interest with the Xbox 360 platform in the Philippines. If you're visiting Pinoyxbox and the site is down, we apologize; it seems to be something that is beyond our control at the moment, so please be patient. Usually the site will go up again after a few hours. Thanks for your patience; and we hope that you guys will continue to support the Pinoyxbox forum.

Photos from Pinoyxbox @ Level Up Live 2008

Here are some photos from PINOYXBOX @ Level Up Live 2008 More photos to be added as they are uploaded.... Official Site for Level-Up Live: http://levelupgames.ph/live2008/ This is the venue hall before they let the people in. One thing for certain, the scale of Level-Up Live 2008 is arguably MUCH bigger than the World Cyber Games: Asian Championships in Singapore. Looking at this thing, I have no doubt that the Philippines can throw a kickass gaming convention! This is the PXB area within the Playground Magazine booth. We just have one TV so we had a very simple set-up. Initially we were just going to bring Soulcalibur 4 but then we figured out we need some variety in our line-up so we brought Rockband 2 as well. Once again THANK YOU SO MUCH TO GAMEHOPPER AND BRICO FOR HELPING US WITH THE LCDTV DISPLAYS! THANKS TO WAKKA FROM GAMECORE FOR PROVIDING US WITH A POSTER OF SOULCALIBUR 4! Here's Pinoyxbox members Whyme and Teejay testing Soulcalibur 4. Our very first guests! Dexter,...

Just Got Back From Level-Up-Live 2008!

Finally got back from Level-Up-Live! Man, there were so many people at Level-Up-Live 2008. I'm very impressed at Level-Up's ability to sustain their business and continue getting gamers to play and enjoy their games. There were far, far more people at Level-Up-Live compared to Anicon. It seems Level Up did a very good job at informing people about the event and getting them to be involved and to participate. The people at the venue seemed genuinely excited to be part of Level Up Live and everyone seemed to be having a great time at the event. I was also impressed at how well-organized and managed Level-Up-Live 2008 was. Despite the fact that there were so many people, they managed to keep things orderly. The environment at Level Up Live was energetic and festive but it never felt chaotic; the organizers did a great job in controlling the flow of people. Overall, I think this event will eventually become very successful for them. By the way, I didn't know that they were als...

More pics from Pinoyxbox's visit to Playground on Air - Jam 88.3FM

Something went wrong with our DSLR during our visit to Jam 88.3 yesterday. The CF card got corrupted....:( Luckily, Wuffy managed to save the CF card by using software from this site: http://www.z-a-recovery.com/ So she managed to recover a few of the pics we took while we were there. Here they are: Thanks again to Jam 88.3 and Playground Magazine for inviting us over to their radio show ^_^
