New Lost Odyssey DLC on April 10 (Extra Dungeon and Item)

On Famitsu it's been reported that new DLC is coming out for Lost Odyssey for 400 MS points. By the way, keep in mind that the DLC for Lost Odyssey hasn't been released for the US; I personally don't know why that is, however, the DLC is out for the Singapore marketplace. So if you had MS points and was wondering what region to put it in, I recommend Singapore over the USA for getting the Lost Odyssey downloadable content. The Memory Lamp DLC is already out but I couldn't buy it because my points are all in my US Gamertag! So once this new DLC hits Singapore, I'm loading my points to my SG account instead of my US one. Here's the Famitsu article about this (in Japanese): http://www.famitsu.com/game/news/1214549_1124.html?ref=rss And some pics:

FanFiction.Net Lost Odyssey Section

I spotted that FanFiction.Net now has a Lost Odyssey section! Check it out below: http://www.fanfiction.net/game/Lost_Odyssey/ Right now it's still relatively new so there's only one story there....but I'm sure that this game's fanbase is rising by the day, and there will be more stories posted there soon. I wonder if anyone will be able to pen a tale that can rival those in "A Thousand Years of Dreams"? Or if anyone can write something about what happens after the game's end? The game's story really opens up a lot of ideas for writing; it really has that much in terms of content for other story ideas. The inclusion of the game on FanFiction.Net is quite fitting, in my opinion. Here's an idea (anyone out there from Microsoft? Hehehe....). There should be a writing contest for Lost Odyssey. If someone can write a story as good (or better) than the stories in "A Thousand Years of Dreams", they should win a prize of some sort (Autographed co...

Lost Odyssey - The JRPG for Next Gen Gaming!

Before anything else, I'll warn you guys in advance that this is a LONG review spanning a total of around 7 pages. I did my very best to keep this review spoiler free. However, occasionally I do reference to some of the reviews this game got from major gaming sites. By now, most of you should have known that the average review score of Lost Odyssey falls around an 8. While its certainly not a bad score, once I read the content of the review I cringe. It seems to me that most of the reviewers just echo each other's opinion. They also seem to echo a startling lack of knowledge about the game and it makes me wonder if you have to FINISH a game BEFORE you can review it. I have provided several impressions throughout the blog regarding Lost Odyssey, some of which are included in my final impressions. Please note that I do not wish to give numerical scores to any game since I don't think it reflects an accurate opinion. I apologize in advance for the seeming lack of cohesion in m...

Gamespy Reviewer for Lost Odyssey EXPOSED

Recently Gamespy gave Lost Odyssey a 2.5/5.0 review score. Patrick Joynt, the person who wrote the review visited the NEOGAF forums to talk about the game, and inadvertently his inability to play the game properly was exposed by one of the gamers on NEOGAF. This is the forum thread with the exchange between Patrick Joynt, username "deadairis" and "Sennin". http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=236182&page=4 (Before I continue, thanks to Sennin from NEOGAF forums for actually having the courage to take on the reviewer from Gamespy. Unfortunately I couldn't thank him myself, since NEOGAF has really strict account creation policies and I simply can't register because I don't have an e-mail account that fits their requirements. ) *warning, there are SPOILERS in this post....so if you don't want to get spoiled, don't read further* Gamespy Reviewer, Patrick Joynt : deadairis A gamer on Neogaf : sennin Deadairis: "I think I covered mos...

On forming an opinion on a game...

So today I got a bit more immersed in Lost Odyssey than ever before. As we've posted previously, it's my wife that's playing the game. That's because I was spending some quality time playing Virtua Fighter 5 and improving my online fighting skills with Jacky. In the future I'm going to post some of my 'ownage!' videos of VF5 online play on this blog, just for kicks :D I guess I needed a change of pace. Every so often I glance over my shoulder while surfing and my wife's playing Lost Odyssey. Some moments really made me go 'Wow!' even if I wasn't strictly watching her progress (most of the posts here about the game are based on her impressions). So this morning I got even deeper into disc 1. Just a thought that occurred to me: When people form their opinion on a game, what should have more weight? Technical merits or the 'big picture'? With Lost Odyssey you could spend time mulling over the occasional jaggy or two, or imperfect lightin...

Lost Odyssey: 36 hours in; now in Disc 4

Took some pics during play of Lost Odyssey for Disc 3 and 4. Note that there are a lot more areas than the ones pictured here....Currently at 36 hours of play by the start of Disc 4. Also, if you don't want to be spoiled then don't look. Honestly there isn't any major story spoilers in the pictures; it's more of "location" spoilers. So if you want to be truly surprised then don't read further. These pictures are not in chronological order; in fact, one of the pics is from Disc 1! It accidentally got in there....anyway, this is just to show the expanse/breadth of the game. Yahoosoda's impressions follow: I just got to Disk 4 of the game and I'm surprised that Disk 4 doesn't entail running to the last boss right away. I'm currently at 36 hours at Disk 4 with my characters having an average level of 36. At this point, I do not have 2 levels of spell casting and I have not completed the spells for the prior levels. (Note that there are 4 spells...

Lost Odyssey PAL Box Art

I'm guessing these will be the boxart for the US version as well. It's very different from the Asian/Japanese boxart, and in some ways it's better (the colored images on the DVDs are really, really nice.) Thanks to Super3clipse from Teamxbox for posting those pictures!
